Greetings,

I have a MY95 Impreza 2DR. Finding correct parts that apply to my vehicle can be sometimes difficult. It is a MY95 GC8 variant, but it has a MY03 WRX GG2 Front crossmember and control arms.

I purchased the FSB just recently and installed it. It is a 2 way adjustable blade style. However after driving it and hearing an intermittent noise going over speed bumps, I decided to recheck the the underbody.

What I immediately noticed was that on the driver's side (LHD) control arm, there is a fine silver flake marked on the control arm. It turns out to be that the swaybar end is hitting the control arm. The right side has not hit the control arm yet, and seems to be with more clearance.

I am also using the KLC30 front endlinks with it along with the supplied hardware.

Has this been an issue in the past? I have also purchased other items such as toe/cam adjustable lateral arms, ALK, 2way RSB, and rack bushings. Perhaps there are parts (such as the ALK) that need to be installed along with the FSB?

Thanks,

-phill

Hi Phill,

Without being able to inspect your car and see the installation it is difficult to visualise your problem and come up with a solution, BUT since you have retrofitted different crossmember and control arms you may also have effected the fitment and operation of some relative components including the swaybar.

Our swaybar BSF20Z is designed and manufactured to fit GC WRX turbo models with factory crossmember control arms and links.

Do you have any photos of your swaybar?

Regards,
Wojtek.

Hi Wojtek,

Thank you for your reply.

I just was able to take some pictures. I have poorly lit garage, so pictures were taken as best as possible with flash assist.

This is with the car on the ground, suspension loaded. You can see in the first photo where little clearence is provided between the swaybar and control arm.

I'm not sure if you wanted the entire swaybar in the picture. I am unable to crawl under the car at the time, but if needed, I can get the car on a lift this weekend and snap a wider photo.

I was also told that the crossmember & control arm replacement was relatively the same as far as track width compared to the GC8.

Thank you again for your help,
