Okay,

I've read up on the ALK but I have a couple of questions.

1. What % swing from anti-dive to pro-dive is experienced after installing the anti-lift kit?
2. Will the NVH increase noticably (uncomfortably) after installation. I've heard mixed reports but nothing conclusive. I read that Whiteline revised the poly bushings on the WRX street kit that improved the NVH without effecting performance.

Thanks.

btw. Rear sway bar is installed now and the results are amazing.(20mm bar) Having a livelier rear end highlights the sloppyness of the front swaybar. I will definetely be doing the front sway in the near future along with the ALK (If ride quality is still ok).

Shock and Springs will be done also. My proposed setup for these are (VRX/Ralliart springs) with KYB struts. This setup will be more then adequate for my driving style.

Hello Monster Inc,

I am unable to provide you with a % of swing difference generated by the ALK as I do not have this listed anywhere on hand and I would need several dimensions of the control arm in order to calculate this. I can however tell you that it positions the centre of the rear pivot point down 9mm from that of the OEM pivot point.

As for the NVH increase, I have never had any complaints from the owners of Magna's that have fitted the anti-lift/caster kit due to the increase of NVH, I can therefore say that it is not sufficient enough to cause concern to the occupants of the vehicle.
The NVH problems that we had relating to the WRX anti-lift kit, resulting in a revision of the hardness of the polyurethane bush is due to the difference in design & quantity of bush material due to the Whiteline ALK being a totally different to that of the OEM bush. It did however result in a minor loss in performance of the ALK due to the dynamic caster losses through softer bush material. The ALK bush for the TJ Magna is the same design as the OEM with quite a large amount of bush material, therefore resulting in less of an increase in NVH.

I hope this helps you.

Hi,

The castor kit with antilift goes on the TJ magna on Monday. Just wondering which way the offset bushes should go into the lower control arm brackets for maximum positive castor? Towards the side of the car, or toward the center of the car? ie. Just want to make sure the suspension place puts them in right since you don't have a writeup on them. Do they only fit one way or can they go in at any angle? I don't want them to stuff the install.

Thanks.

Hello,

The offset of the hole needs to be positioned towards the outside of the vehicle (away from the centre-line of the vehicle), so you are effectively shifting the rear of the sway bar outwards.

If you need some pictures of the install, contact me at the e-mail address below and I can send you some.

Cheers

Wayne,

Suspension Shop took one look at the bushes in the KCA358X pack and said I needed the other type. I checked the parts sheet for the magna again and it seems there is a typo.:( The sheet contradicts itself. The notes at the bottom are correct but the parts list is incorrect. Bursons are organising the exchange for KCA372X. Looking forward to better handling.

Cheers,

Mark.

Hello Mark,

I am terribly sorry that you have been caught out by this missleading information, it something that has managed to slip under the radar without being detected. I am in the process of rectifying this information at the the moment to prevent this happening again.
The listings in the catalogue are all correct.
Hopefully Bursons can organise the correct parts for you without too much delay.

Hi,

Well I've received the right kit (KCA372X) in only 2days!! (Wow! Lightening quick) and I had it installed as instructed. I then had a 4 wheel alignment performed and I was disappointed to find out that post installation the Castor was only 2.65deg left and 2.63 deg right. The magna manual states that castor from factory should be 3deg +/- 0.5deg. So what can I do to reach the Whiteline recommended 3.25deg?

On the plus side, the steering does feel a little more responsive with no increase in NVH. But I've yet to really test the change in handling.

Regards,

Mark.
