Hi There!

I have a 2000 GC8 w/ 19/20mm f/r swaybars w/ whiteline ALK and endlinks.

The car is very stable, but my suspension is getting old and need charging.

After the ALK and the endlinks, my car can drift very easy and feel fairly stable, except now w/ te suspension going, it feels terrible. I have STI adjustable suspension (STI ping spring & STI Adj. shocks).

My question is, if I upgrade the swaybars to 22mm/20-24mm f/r, how would the car feel and would it rotate even quicker at 22/22?

Would bumps upset the car more?

Would the car feel very stable, but can be upset fairly quickly at 22/22?

Hi,
Stiffer swaybars will reduce body roll and make the car feel tighter and more responsive. A 22mm front and 22mm adjustable rear swaybar combination on Subaru Impreza is proven to have a neutral balance. Increasing swaybar stiffness does increase ride stiffness, but this is generally not seen as a problem and is relatively small when compared to stiffer springs. As for all stiffer suspensions, the cars will be more responsive and the handling limit will be highter but on a narrower band.

Wojtek.
