I have a set of tanabe nf210 springs on stock usdm struts, whiteline 22mm front sway bar, and 24mm adjustable rear sway bar. The spring rates for the nf210s are 2.5/2.0 kg/mm according to their web site. These rates are softer than stock. Why?

I'm looking for new struts, but if I keep these springs, what should I go with? Everything seems to be made for higher spring rates.

I like the way the car rides right now, especially in bumpy corners. But it still understeers a bit too much. I'm going to get the heavy duty sway bar mounts so I can increase the rear bar to the stiffest setting, but I'm a little affraid of the snap oversteer. I'm also considering putting the stock rear springs back on.

Any ideas and opinions would be helpful. Nobody seems to be using these springs, so I may ditch them for something more common. Although, light springs and heavy sways seems to be whitelines suggested rout, these may be too light. I don't know.
thanks

oh yeah, forgot to mention,

Hi jpbpro,

Why are your springs so soft is a very good question. I'd be interested to know why as well. Perhaps you can ask the manufacturer.

Spring rates - if the ride height is lowered and the spring rates are inadequate for the amount of lowering, then it is a receipe for permature suspension bottoming out.

Yes, it is true that we like to set up cars using uprates swaybars, but also with similarily uprated swaybars, as per our Control and Flatour springs. For cars where we offer a number of swaybar options, the swaybar size combination will depend on springs and shocks used (from OE through performance lowering such as Control or Flatout to race such as Group'4 or similar) and type of driving done.

Wojtek.

Yeah, I've emailed them again. Last time I didn't get a response.

I've never bottomed them out. The springs don't really feel softer than stock. They feel really close to stock, only the car's a little lower. Handling is better than stock, but that may just be because of the lower center of gravity. (w/ the stock sway bars) The car does feel a little underdampened, but it felt that way stock and brand new. Its hard to tell now with 85k on the stock struts.

I don't know, it may just be time to go flatout.
Thanks
