Hi, tried to fit a KSB554 front strut brace to my 05 XT on the w/end. Had some difficulty with the placement of the a/c lines on the passenger side. To overcome, I removed one of the bolts from the a/c line bracket and rotated down about 45 degrees. Managed then to fit the bar but the a/c line where it joins the black hose on its way to the pump is immediately below the bar. This is rubbing and without bending the aluminium a/c line that goes into the firewall, I cannot see how I can get another 10-20 mm clearance.

Do you have any pics/instructions on how to fit a KSB554 to an '05 XT?

As an alternative, does a KSB599 fit an XT? The KSB599 appears to have a higher connection point to the strut bracket and thus should clear the a/c and brakes lines.

Any info appreciated.

Thnaks

Hello Tim,

Unfortunately I have never had a KSB599 fitted to the Forrester, so I can not guarantee that there will be no clearance issues.

As for the KSB554, a slight tweek of the A/C line is not going to be a problem, but another alternative is to make a small plate between the clip on the A/C line and the rubber mounting point to allow the pipe to still be supported but give you the clearance required.

Cheers
