My second question is regarding the assembly of the front coilovers. Please take a look at what I have done and let me know if it is correct.

Step 1 - Conical annodized yellow part in place.

Step 2 - OEM conical washer in place, flat side down, cone shaped side up to interface with bearing in OEM top hat.

Step 3 - OEM top hat is placed on the assembly.

Step 4 - Whiteline-supplied washer is placed on the assembly.

Step 5 - Whiteline-supplied locknut is placed on the assembly.

My final question related to the front coilover install is how to tighten the top locknut. Unlike the rear, where the locknut can be torqued to spec once the assembly is in the car, the front assembly turns in the car when torque is applied to the locknut.

Thanks,

Jeff

To follow up on this, I was able to tighten the top nuts on the front coilovers using a 19 mm offset wrench for the nut and a 8 mm open end wrench for the flats on the shaft to keep it from spinning.

I would still like to know if my assembly order is correct.

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

1. correct
2. correct (this is optional - we generally do not use this washer when fitting Group'4 - but it is not wrong to re-use it)
3. correct
4. correct
5. correct

We always use a rattle gun to tighten the top nuts.

Wojtek.

Excellent! As long as the washer isn't causing any problems I'll probably leave it. The top nut is engaged sufficiently (in the car - in the picture above I just put it on hand-tight for the photo) and the fronts are quiet, so I'll leave them alone.

Cheers,

Jeff
