Hi there. Great concept for a forums!
In the recent Cruise4ACure cruise (sponsored in part by Whiteline) I was lucky enough to come away with a raffle prize of a Whiteline voucher to the value of $250
Now I could use some suggestions from the experts as to what would be most beneficial for the car.
I will endevour to provide as much detail about my current setup as possible:
- Car is VR series 2 SS Commodore (5.0L V8 auto)
- Rear is IRS
- also fitted with ABS (if it makes a difference)
Mods so far include stiff springs and shocks, a front strut tower brace, and nolathane bushes (All Pedders gear).
The springs and shocks are Pedders GSR (Gas Sports-Ryder), 1 inch lowered.
It also has a Camber kit for the rear, but I was informed later that it was only part of a full camber kit (top or bottom, i forget which), so it only has partial adjustment (about 1 degree either way). My last wheel alignment showed a rear camber of about 2 degrees, which I was told was acceptable. However tyre wear is still dominant on the inside edges.
The car stays pretty flat around corners already. The only handling 'flaw' I can think of is my driving style can sometimes induce some pretty scary understeer.
So what do the experts suggest? Sway bars? Anything else I should be looking at?
If you need any other info, just ask.
Dave.
