Hi there - hope I'm in the right place - I've had a whiteline Camber/Caster kit on my ED for years now - the kit I purchased online and had a mechanical workshop who specialise in Falcons install (all this aout 5 years ago).
The car also has whiteline adjustable sway bars, whiteline top trail arm kits (the XR spec units - relocated rear attachments etc.), EL diff cover, King Springs and Bilstein shocks. Also has SuperPro bushes wherever possible thru-out (purchased thru whiteline on-line store). I've done a lot of engine work as well - has BBM and knock sensor (EL XR6 ECU), 3.45 diff ratio, exhaust, cam, and EFXR6 head - the car goes very hard and effortlessly reaches and exceeds 200kph (the ecu doesn't seem to have a limiter) and runs smooth and happy at that speed - tho I don't go there very often (regularly sees 180 or so overtaking). Brakes are std but with EBC pads and DBA slotted rotors.
The point is that the car is set up as a true tourer - for regular trips from WA to QLD - and the suspension is a critical part of the setup and not just for show.
Recently the front top arms started moving about a bit (some clunking could be heard) - a quick look revealed that the fwd bushes both sides were gone - so I ordered another complete caster/camber kit (dunno if just the bushes are available - not concerned - the whole kit is cheap enough).
I elected to do the job myself - making sure the same shims go back where they came from (and take it to wheel alignment shop if it doesn't feel right or tyres start to wear - currently they are perfect as is handling).
Here's my question: the kit comprises of 4 pivot assemblies - 2 have purple bushes and 2 have red bushes (the red bushed pivot assys seem a tad heavier built than the purple ones) - which are for the front and which are for the rear?
The red bushed pivots have an R etched on them, but when I had a close look at my car it has had the red bushed pivots installed to the front - is this right?? (it is the red bushes that have disintegrated - the purple bushes are still perfect).
Thanks,
C
