Hello,
I've fitted King Spring Superlow springs with KYB Excel G shocks to my MY98 WRX. The car now sits approx 25mm lower all round which I'm pleased with but the ride is now excessively stiff, choppy and unbareable. I'm at the point of wanting to put the factory springs back.
I was originally looking at buying Whiteline Flatout springs but was convinced by a sales person to go for King Springs because they were variable rate and should ride better. However, once the springs are loaded the thinner variable coils all gather into a solid mass at the top only leaving about 2 coils at the bottom to do all the work. This can't be good?
I'm guessing the Whiteline springs aren't variable rate so the coils dont gather and the load is better spread across the coils, giving a better ride?
I now refer to a post from 2004 in the Chassis Talk 1 - basic suspension modes artice........
User Lonx said that King Springs are stupidly stiff compared to others like Whiteline and Lovells.
Is this true? Will fitting a set of Whiteline Flatouts improve my situation?
Thanks John
