Hi Everyone, Happy new Year.

Its been easy doing the rears till now.

I slide the whiteline springs over the strut and when I
put the top plate on & goto torque it down, the nut holding
the topplate down against the spring bottoms out at the
end of the thread and the spring isnt compressed either.

The fronts required me to compress the springs
to get the topplate back on, not so with the rears...

Any help appreciated. Also, No other parts came with the
struts except 4 nuts, the 2 whitedisks, the 2 black tophat
looking things and the sticker.

ALSO, while I have someones expert attention, do the
Camber Kit KCA321 bushes mount with the ecentric holes
towards the inside or outside for max castor?

Thanks in Advance,

Regards,

Peter. (Still having fun installing this stuff!)

Hang on, I think Ive figured it out.

The old bump stop is so old it falls down the strut arm
hence I dont have that extra height under the topplate.

Hope this helps someone else....

Change your bump stops if you have an old car!

Off to Repco.

Nup, still not working, managed to torque down the topplate
bolts but the spring still has room to rattle around when
all is finished....

G'day Peter,

Seems we have some problems. I'll address each of them separately.

Springs. Some thing is wrong here that?s for sure. The spring "must be captive". Could I request you to measure the free length of the spring and note the Part # and get back to me off list, using the email address below. Could you also provide your Order # please and details of your car, make model, year, etc and a phone number where we can contact you, and we will resolve this for you on Monday.

White Discs. It is imperative that the slotted disc goes down against the body of the shock first with the blank disc facing the bump stop. This is very important as it provided an air bleed should the bump stop contact the top of the shock. If this is not positioned correctly, you can invert the top seal due to entrapped air pushing against the seal.

Caster Kit KCA321. These are replacement "Rear Bushes" for the "Front Lower Control Arm". To gain an increase in caster, it is necessary to move the lower ball joint forward. To achieve this we rotate the outer end of the lower control arm towards the front of the car. The thicker section of the bush is therefore towards the centre of the car.

When this work is completed , a comprehensive wheel alignment will be required.

Please get back to me using the email address below:
