Hi,

I have been wanting to lower my 2001 Celica ZR about 30-50mm. i have been trying to read up as much as possible about all of the different options i have and much of the feedback has been to speak to whiteline/ buy their springs etc.

with this in mind i am hoping that you can outline the best option for me.

i am hoping to initially lower it for aesthetic looks and will be happy to have any performance/ ride feel increased but Do Not want to lose any feel/ ride enjoyment by doing so.

i did not know whether the control or flatout range would be more suitable considering as it will be a car for street use although from reading it looks as though the control is more than likely the option. so my questions are this:

- What would be your suggestions on springs? also, can i have part numbers?
- Would you suggest that i get new struts/ shocks as there is 75k on the clock? (i am yet to have a shock test)
- Am i able to order these parts through whiteline's website and have them fitted? - this will be cheaper no doubt? (you aren't allowed to quote prices correct?)
- What would you expect the ride height to drop by? (looking for 30-50mm)

Also, almost forgot to mention that I am also 90% certain of putting 18" Zenetti's on it so that might also need to be brought into the equation. do you forsee any fitting/ scrubbing issues etc?

Much appreciate your help.

Regards,
Antony

Hi Anthony,

Thanks for your interest in Whiteline products.

If you are looking for a lowered look and not comprise too much shock shaft travel i would be inclined to go for the control springs
The part number is 73173 for the front and 73174 for the rear this should give you approx 20mm drop in height. It would pay to replace the shocks at the same time as doing the springs as i found Toyota o.e shocks tend to deteriorate around the 100k mark. All parts can be ordered via our webstore or through any Repco, Bursons, Autobarn, coventrys stores. Any local workshop will able to do the fitment for you. I wouldn't see any issues with clearence on 18's with the control spring provided you use a low profile tyre. I would be inclined to put the wheels on first and work out what your clearence options are and measure ride heights then make a calculation on how low you want to go.

Cheers,

Dave
