Hello, I'm new to this forum. Hoping to get some advice on what Whiteline has to offer in the way of suspension packs/kits or parts for my old ET Pulsar. The reason I ask is that it needs to go for a RWC and it has a bit of pull to the left. It's not tourque steer but does not seem to happen when I brake. I jacked the car up and had a look and the shocks seemed stuffed, like fully extended with the wheels off the ground. So I think I have to get front shocks. On strong acceleration the left wheel makes a sligh clunking sound and seems to 'bounce' up and down. What is this? I'm pretty sure the CV's are ok as they dont complain when you do corners or go round in a circle. So as you can see I've got some probs with the handling of the car.
Thanks
The pulling to one side might just be an alignment problem. Might need to get a wheel alignment.
To see if the shocks are stuffed leave the car on the ground, and 'bounce' one side at a time by pressing down on the guard above the wheel. If the car bounces, it measn the shock is stuffed. It shouldn't bounce much and return to normal pretty much straight away.
The clunking and boucing could be control arm bushes, these being worn would also explain the bouncing wheel or axle tramp.
Best bet is to take it to pedders and get a $14 checkup, they'll be able to tell you what's wrong with it and if your shocks are ok. Or you could just go for the RWC and let the mechanic tell yuo what needs to be fixed. When he asks if you know anything that might not pass, just say you have no idea. As soon as you open your mouth it gives them a chance to open your wallet.
After you've got it on the road you can go about upgrading the suspension to whiteline bits. You can get front and rear swaybars, BNF6 and BNR6 respectively. You can also get a camber bolt kit, KCA412. Then there's springs, a range of shocks, and polyurethane bushes.
It really depends how much you want to spend and what you're going to be using the car for and how long. For just a cheap runaround, fix up what needs to be done, but if you want to go further there's plenty of stuff available.

Thanks for your reply. It's the first response I've had and that includes the email I sent to Whiteline asking virtually the same questions. I'm surprised that they have not got back to me as they seem very professional.
Anyways, you mentioned some swaybars part numbers (can,t really figure out the online webstore) which was great but I would also really appreciate a point in the right direction for base priced shocks and springs, front and rear. I have done the bounce test and you can really feel the springs oscillating on the open road. The actual pull to the left is not so bad as I though and is very slight, a wheel alignment should sort it out.
As far as getting the RWC mob to have a look, I pretty much know what needs to be done as there is not much wrong with the car apart from the already mentioned suspension and replacement of the sports steering wheel and pedals with stockies. Your advice is appreciated and practical in terms of what I need to do as opposed to what can be done.
Thanks again
Peter

G'day 80turbo (& Dave),
The comments offered by Dave seem to have addresed the main issues of determining what the problem(s) might be. Thanks Dave :) A wheel alignment will assist in this regard and from what you have indicated, shocks will certainly be on the agenda. We have recieved a number of emails relating to N12's in the past couple of days and I trust your message has been replied to. Dave has listed the Parts we have available for your chassis and yes we have a comprehensive range of bushes.
Cheers
Peter
