i'm still not really happy with my suspension of my fwd alfa 156 v6.
i've got lowered spring and shocks, white line adjustable sway bars and links.
and a front strut brace sitting on 17 inch wheels.

i have posted here regarding this accouple of times before and i started to begin to think it was the tires...

but i'm still find it hard to believe the tires could cuz the car to handle so poorly after all these mods..

only toe is adjustable suspension wise...the alignment guy done it to 0 toe front and rear.... evan after i told him my thoughts..

the car starts to understeer when corning at a fairly fast speed..

my question is what should i do with the alignment??
the factory spec for rear toe is 0'29 toe in for the rear.. and they done it too 0.. could this cuz the car to handle poorly???

please help....i know i'm not after any parts but i have bought all the parts you guys offer for my car already...

many thanks jason.

p.s.. if u guys want to develop a front lower adjustable control arm for this model it would be great:) the arm will fit 156,147 range including gta models..

Hi Jason,
Understeer, or loss of front grip, can be caused by a number of things, such as:
- too high front spring rate, or too soft rear spring rate
- too low front spring rate, causing bottoming out
- insufficient bump travel, causing bottoming out
- too stiff front swaybar, or too soft rear swaybar
- inappropriate wheel alignment settings

With respect to rear toe setting in particular, in simple terms rear toe-induces stability, and vice versa for toe-out. But, this is a very general statement, where each car will have its own preferred set of settings.

There is also an article about Suspension setup problems diagnosis on our website which I would like to refer you to;
http://www.whiteline.com.au/articles/skidmarks3a.htm
You may find this of some help.

Unfortunately, I do not have a magic answer for you, as there are too many unknowns here. Do you know your spring rates and ride heights? What shocks and springs are you using?

Wojtek.
