I installed the whiteline sports pack on my 87 corolla fx-16 and think it's great. I get complements all the time about how low it is and everyone I run into with a fx-16 wants to know how i got my car so low.

I do have a couple of questions. I noticed that after lowering only the driverside of the car seems to have any camber. The passenger side is still almost 0 camber and therefore rubs on the fenders. Will the Whitline camber settings keep my tires from rubbing, or do I need the large camber on the driverside to avoid rubbing? I am hoping that I can take some of the camber out of the driverside and add some to the passenger side without rubbing. The car is a daily driver so tire wear is kind of important

Also when i had my rear struts installed they didn't use the bracket for the brake line. It looks like it didn't have a bracket on the old struts. The front struts used the brackets, is it possible that i have four front struts on my car?

Thanks
Matt

Hello,

Thank you for the great feedback on the Whiteline sports pack, it is always rewarding to hear of satisfied customers.
The problem that you have with the front camber, comes down to the installation process, as the AE82 is fitted with factory camber adjusters, so I would dare to say that the adjusters have been set in the wrong position, and a wheel alignment should be done after removal or replacement of the struts is carried out, especially with lowering the vehicle as the Toe will have changed as well.
If you even the cambers out to about -1 to 1.5 degree, it should give you a bit of clearance from the guard without causing too much tyre wear, But the other issue also involves the size and offset of the wheels and tyres that you have fitted on the vehicle, which may be the real cause of your problems.
As for the rear struts, I'm not to sure if the brake line is meant to secure to the strut, or go directly to the body, with all the records that I have, the brake line is going directly to the body. If the new struts that you received have all the correct part numbers that are on your invoice, and are not fitted with brake line securing brackets, then I would say that how they are is how they are meant to be.

The wheels are the stock and tires are factory size in the front and one size too wide in the back. I blame the right rear rubbing mostly on the tire size.

I have been driving with the new suspension set-up for a few months now and haven't had any brake problems, so I guess the rears are fine.

I didn't know the front camber was adjustable from the factory, I am off to the alignment shop!

Thanks for the help,
Matt
