Hi, this is my first post as a new member so apologies if this question has been posted/answered before, but can anyone offer some advice on this?

I recently fitted Prodrive lowering springs to my 2003 WRX with help of a fellow Subaru enthusiast who is also a competent mechanic. Initially everything seemed fine, however soon after install a single 'clunk' sound appeared from front end (sounds like drivers footwell area) whenever making turns at slow speed with plenty of lock on e.g. reversing off drive or pulling into garage. Noise was not there previously & have checked installation i.e. everything torqued up properly, springs sat on perches correctly!

Also recently fitted Whiteline front & rear drop links and clunk now appears more pronounced!
Any ideas what could be causing this?
Cheers.
Mitch.

Hi Mitch,

As the noise occurs at slow speeds, you may like to try your process of elimination by either removing your swaybar links, or replacing them with the original units.
If the noise is not there anymore, it's your endlinks. What you can do there will depend on what kind of links you have and what is actually wrong with them or their installation.
Otherwise, you will need to carry on with the diagnosis of your steering and struts.

Hope that this helps.
Cheers,
Wojtek.

Many thanks for advice. Traced noise to right hand front strut & diagnosed incorrect strut & top mount re-assembly incorrect positioning of metal spacer. Result: friction & hence creaking/clunk noise. Vibration could be felt through strut top mount & spring whilst vehicle stationary, turning steering wheel left/right. Everything now as it should be!!
